Royal Caribbean and the Community
A Message from our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Through our global Community Relations program, we contribute to making our communities a better place to live and work. From our land-based offices in the United States and abroad, to wherever our ships sail worldwide, we're committed to helping out at the local level. We provide monetary funding and in-kind cruise donations to nonprofit organizations, and we also organize annual volunteer days around the world.
In addition to these programs, we also recognize our responsibility to preserving the environment. Our oceans are our ships' communities, so our cruise lines are committed to keeping them clean and protected.
Our corporate citizenship programs help enhance relationships with customers and our employees, which benefits our shareholders by strengthening our company.
Richard D. Fain

GET INVOLVED VOLUNTEER EVERYWHERE (GIVE
GIVE is the umbrella that encompasses Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.'s global outreach efforts to the geographical areas where we operate. We want our employees to get involved in all the communities in which we live and work. Whether we're rolling up our sleeves and giving our time, donating to worthy causes, or being mentors to students in our neighborhood, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. employees are pleased to encourage and engage in community service.
GIVE Day is an example of how the 60,000 Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. employees give back to their communities around the world, by donating thousands of volunteer hours to assist their communities with neighborhood development, civic drives, environmental improvement and disaster recovery. Every year since 1997, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. employees, along with their friends and families, vendors and business partners, join forces nationally and internationally to assist non-profit and community organizations with improving the quality of life in their local communities. Our employees have pitched in at schools, children's homes and neighborhoods globally.
GIVE for the Holidays is an initiative where Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. matches up to $2,500 of funds raised by shipboard employees in the weeks and months leading up to the winter holidays to raise money for the charity of their choice in one of their ports of call. The crew members then purchase items the charity has requested, including mattresses, educational tools and other special gifts to bring hope and joy to the children and families in that city.
From our land-based offices in the United States, to wherever our ships sail worldwide, we're committed to helping out at the local level. By recognizing volunteers, making the wishes of kids come true, offering scholarships and helping preserve the world's oceans, we strive to be a true partner to our communities.
Every year, the Fain Scholarship Fund established in 1999 by Richard D. Fain, chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., offers educational scholarships for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. employees, their spouses and children.
Our oceans are our ships' communities, so Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is committed to keeping them clean and protected.
